Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) consultation

Burton Green Parish Council is seeking ideas from residents on how Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) funds should be spent in Burton Green.

The Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) is a levy charged by Warwick District Council to Developers when they build new houses in the District. 25% of all CIL resulting from development in Burton Green is passed onto the Parish Council, to be spent on projects that improve local infrastructure e.g. community facilities, public spaces, transport/road safety and our environment.

The Parish Council has received £527,745 of CIL funds to date and we have already spent £127,455 on projects like the Red Lane Play Area, the height restriction barrier at the Burrow Hill car park and the stained-glass window at the village hall. Our CIL funds must be spent within 5 years of receipt, after which we are required to return any unspent CIL to Warwick District Council.

We’d like your help to identify how best to spend the remaining CIL funds in Burton Green. We have created a short questionnaire; your answers will help us to draw up a list of preferred projects that the Council can focus on.
